i enlisted back in october of 07
and have been training heavily

i started off by not being able to do 1 pullup
to ten now
not being able to finish the mile
to gettin my mile and a half in under 9
to maybe finishing 50 crunches to doing 115 in 2 minutes
i feel pretty confident about all my knowledge

thanks big al holmes
another question.. the whole buddy sytem thing
how much of that stuff is really true
i been hearing from different Marines
thats its all bull****
and that me and my buddy arent even
guaranteed the same platoon
is there any truth to that???

you should get assigned your platoon together. you should know your platoon before you leave. once you get there they will most likely change it so your together, that happened with a couple guys in my platoon.
dont worry about learning drill, your Drill Instructors will have their own way of teaching it, so anything you learned now would be a waste. just start off on your left foot, and say the diddys in your head. youll be alright. being guide isnt all about Drill.

Read all of the Sticky Posts in the Poolee Hall. They include rules and tips. Including using proper capitalization.

I do have Leadership experience as i used to be captain on my soccer team, I have also been attending every pool function for the past 6 months and have become sort of an example for the newer poolees.

Excellent. You should be tried out as a Squad Leader at least. Of course its more than the basics of drill. The maturity to perform and Lead under stress is essential. Your determination and drive to PT is part of that Character.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I got two guys to elnist so I'm supposed to get PFC after graduation, if I graduate Squad Leader would I be able to get Lance Corporal?

As Squad Leader, probably not. Earning The Title is what its all about. Do a site search on Covey_Rider. He was the last one here to Earn L/Cpl out of Boot Camp.
And make sure yor Recruiter has those 2 referrals documented and that you are Guaranteed PFC.

Okay thanks I'll ask Covey_Rider. My Recruiter does have those two referrals down, I'll make sure though.
